Using only the finest ingredients, the staff of Weil's of Westdale take pride in producing high quality, “from scratch” bakery and pastry products for our customers. Over the past two years, we have been seeking opportunities to provide our fine breads, cakes, and pastries to restaurants and cafes that desire ‘something more' than the ubiquitous fare supplied by wholesale companies.

Sandy Zimmerman was a clinical nurse specialist for over 30 years when she took a bread baking course at George Brown College in Toronto , Ontario and fell in love. After completing the Baking and Patissier programs at George Brown, she continued her training with Pastry Chef Catherine O'Donnell at the Queen's Landing in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Sandy specializes in producing artisan breads and developing new recipes for our customers' enjoyment. She also has created sugar-free desserts and a number of gluten-free breads, cakes, and cookies.
Catherine Tompkins steps out of her nurse educator role at McMaster University to don an apron at the bakery on all of the holidays. She is also the creator of the bakery display windows that are looked forward to by scores of Westdale kids every season.
Josephine Hopkins is a graduate of the Toronto Hotel Management Program and has been a professional cake decorator for almost two decades. Jo leads the ‘wedding cake specialist' team and is becoming well known for her beautiful and delicious wedding cake creations.
Guiseppi DiStefano makes many of our outstanding cookies and Italian pastries, including “Hamilton's best” Belgian cookies. Joe, a grandfather of three and originally from Sicily, has been honing his craft for four decades in bakeries throughout the Golden Horseshoe. His wife, Maria, is also a marvelous cook whose invitations to dinner are never refused!
Sandra Lee and Shannon Murphy are both graduates of the George Brown College Baking and Patissier Programmes. This creative duo produces many of the pastries, mousses and other sweets that Weil's is famous for.
